GBH Kids Spring Bumpers
GBH Kids' is defined by memorable characters and imaginative worlds. The channel had already established its brand with bumpers, inspired by New England's Cape Cod landscapes and an underwater theme. As a refresh for 2026, the team wanted to incorporate another scenic world for bumpers, IDs, and overall visual identity.
We wanted to incorporate flowers and nature that are native to Massachusetts, and settled on a bee character that would leave a hive and land on a flower. This new scene posed several 3D challenges. First was rigging and animating a dynamic bee character in Cinema 4D. We wanted the character to be playful and flexible in movement, while light enough to be duplicated dozens of times in the hive.
After rigging and animation, the next challenge was rendering the dynamic fur on the bee and the grass, flowers, and lighting of the landscape. The final render utilizes Octane Renderer's hair objects and dynamic lighting to bring the world of the hive and the field to life.
Several renders were created across the GBH Kids brand, including bumpers, legal IDs, livestream graphics, and more.
